She serves as Professor of Art and Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, Grace College, Winona Lake, IN, where academic roles include teaching, advising, and program/curriculum development. She holds a PhD in Visual Arts: Philosophy, Aesthetics, and Art Theory, as well as a Master of Fine Arts, and a Master of Business Administration.

The study of 12 visual artists served as the focal point of her doctoral dissertation: The Caretaker: Bearing Witness in Public Art: An Examination of the Role of Contemporary Artists Addressing the Effects of Environmental Injustice within Michigan Communities.

She curated and produced Through the Iris, a 5-college touring art exhibit (2017-18) that featured the artworks of 25 female visual artists. Additionally, she designed and published the exhibition catalog. Her studio practice continues in fiber, digital, and mixed media processes that explore within the visual frame, the tactile nature of being. Through the reconstructive process, her work personifies the human condition that reveals one’s intrinsic vulnerability and resilience in unexpected moments.
