Statement on Elements

Acrylic paint, wire mesh, and gauze, provide a gestural connection between the artist, canvas, and natural environment.

Emerald Paradigm’s torn-canvas strips reveal stains from being dipped in the still waters of ‘Beta Wetland’ nearby. Traces of the world’s rarest and smallest flowering plants found in this locale, remain attached to its canvas threads.

The torn-canvas strips of Terre Verte reveal stains from nature’s hue. The classic pigment melds with modern acrylic resin to represent ‘earth’, as the second artwork of the Elements series, earth.
